Censurfri / Leifur Eiríksson Networks is a brand owned by Northlayer ehf, a small IT and hosting solutions company established in Reykjavík 2022. We want to offer the world affordable, privacy-focused VM and web hosting based in Iceland to maximise benefits. Here's what sets us apart:

1. Great value for customers

We provide a service with high core count and high clock speed CPUs. All VM hosts are high in memory capacity to offer customers even lower prices than would be possible with lower capacity systems. All customers enjoy access to our owned core network, i.e. not owned by our datacentre, and are permitted a standard allowance of 30TB of traffic - with additional allowance being granted to anyone with a justified use case.

2. We pay tax!

Our primary competitors are 1984 hosting, FlokiNET, and Orangewebsite. Two of these companies, FlokiNET and Orangewebsite, are companies registered in foreign jurisdictions which allows them to dodge paying taxes here in Iceland. We, however, do the opposite. We are registered here in Iceland, are accountable to the Icelandic government and most of all pay our fair share of taxes to the country that makes our value proposition so good.

3. Highly secure & green datacentre environment

Our equipment is located in the atNorth ICE01 datacentre, also known as ThorDC, which is a tier-3 rated datacentre facility that also holds ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification. All power in the datacentre comes from green, renewable sources - mostly from Iceland's national grid - but additional measures are taken to ensure all power consumed at the facility really comes from a green source.
